Refund policy

30-Day Return Period & Eligibility

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you’re not, you have 30 days from the date you receive your item to request a return. To be eligible, the item must be unused, in the same condition as received, with original tags and packaging intact. You will also need to provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt or order confirmation. Refunds for non-defective returns will cover the product price only; original shipping costs are not refundable. This 30-day return policy is offered in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. For example, if a product is faulty, damaged, or not as described, you may be entitled to a remedy under the law even beyond 30 days.

How to Initiate a Return

To start a return, please contact us at sales@gardeningdownunder.com.au with your order details and the reason for the return. We’ll respond with a return authorisation and instructions on how and where to send your package. Do not send back items without prior approval, as they will not be accepted. If your return is approved, we can provide a return shipping label for your convenience. For change-of-mind returns, return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. If we provide a prepaid label, the cost of that label will be deducted from your refund. For returns involving damaged, faulty, or incorrect items, we will cover all return shipping costs.

Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon delivery and contact us immediately if any item is defective, damaged, or incorrect. We will evaluate the issue and resolve it promptly, typically by offering a refund or replacement at no additional cost to you.

Exceptions – Non-Returnable Items

Some items cannot be returned for change of mind. These include perishable goods such as food, flowers, or live plants; custom or personalised items; personal care and hygiene products such as beauty items and toiletries; hazardous or flammable materials including certain chemicals or gases; sale or clearance items marked as final sale; and gift cards or store credit. However, if any of these items arrive damaged or faulty, you are still entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law.

Exchanges

We do not offer direct product exchanges. If you’d like a different item, the best option is to initiate a return for the original item, and place a new order for the replacement item. Once your return is accepted and processed, we will issue a refund to your original payment method.

Refunds

After receiving and inspecting your returned item, we’ll notify you of the outcome. If your return is approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method. Please note that it may take a few business days for your bank or card provider to post the refund to your account. If the item does not meet our return conditions — for example, if it’s used or not in its original condition — we may decline the refund and offer to return the item to you.
